How the CSA Works

Common Thread CSA | 3424 Lake Moraine Rd. Madison, NY 13402

Members purchase a ‘share' of the farm in advance of the growing season. This fee helps support the costs of running the farm, especially during the spring when costs are high. In return, members visit the farm weekly from June 10 through the middle of November to pick up their share of produce.

We also will be delivering a boxed share of fresh seasonal produce to a convenient and consistent location in the Syracuse, Clinton, Utica, Cazenovia and Oneida areas once a week for the duration of the growing season. Each box will have an array of what is ready in the fields. Check out our sample harvest schedule to find out when crops will be in.

Our prices are based solely on the costs of production, which are kept to a minimum since we deal directly with you. Our goal is to provide you with the highest quality vegetables, herbs, flowers and small fruits around.

2008 Satellite Distribution to Syracuse, Clinton, Cazenovia, Utica and Oneida

Delivery for 2008 will be on Thursdays, beginning the second week of June through Thanksgiving.

Vegetables will be harvested, pre-washed, packed and cooled, then delivered fresh to you. There will be no names on any of the boxes, instead they will be counted for the correct number of members who have signed up. Boxes can be picked up between the hours of 11:00-6:30 p.m. and should be picked up on the day of the delivery. Please refer to satellite distribution sites for more detailed information regarding specific drop-off times and locations. Please make your own arrangements for boxes if you are going to be out of town. We cannot hold boxes for you, so have a friend pick it up or give it away to someone else if you are not able to take it.

If you are interested in having your home used for one of our drop off sites please contact the farm at 315-893-7767 or e-mail us at info@commonthreadcsa.com

Reduced membership pledge incentives may be available for providing a drop-off site.
